After years of silence, the bells at St. Mary's Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception are ringing out again over Portland, OR. The cathedral contacted Chime Master to inspect the bells and recommend a course of action to return them to regular use.
The 3 large bells were removed by local riggers and sent to our Ohio facility for a major renovation. The renovation included removal of the cone top yoke mounts, all new hot-dip galvanized and powder coated Yokes and A-frames, new clappers and a complete automation system. The existing wheels were also hot-dip galvanized and powder coated. The bells have now been returned to their home in Portland and are ringing with the help of a Libertas Bell Control, Mag Force Drive, and a Sonant electromagnetic striker.
Chime Master is proud to have been chosen to be part of this extensive project. We know the bells will be an integral part of the Portland, OR community for years to come.
