Project Overview
A Baptist university in Oklahoma suffered severe damage when a tornado struck their campus. Their chapel was hit hard, with the clock system needing complete replacement. Being in Oklahoma, as Jeff Crook notes, "Every once in a while, something gets wiped out." The restoration required installing new clocks that measured 12 feet in diameter within the building's steeple.
Project Execution
The scale of this project was impressive, requiring scaffolding that stood 110 feet tall to access the clock installation area. Our team meticulously installed the large timepieces, ensuring they would withstand future weather events while maintaining the historic character of the university chapel. The university and contractors documented the process with drone footage, capturing the extensive nature of the restoration work.
Results
The restored chapel now features fully functioning 12-foot diameter clocks that serve as both functional timepieces and architectural focal points. The clocks have been reinstated as a central feature of this important campus building.
This project demonstrates Chime Master's expertise in disaster recovery restoration, our ability to handle large-scale installations, and our commitment to preserving significant timepieces in educational institutions.
